We do know where it rises from in the brain. We know which areas light up from external emotional stimulus. Joy, sadness, anger, love, they are all part of our consciousness. But do not confuse feelings with thoughts. Thoughts are produced in a whole different area. And sometimes the brain lies to us. This is a fascinating journey so buckle up!
